The Everett Recovery Café’s Kitchen Training Program (KTP) is a vital resource for Members returning to the workforce. This hands-on course teaches participants how to professionally operate, maintain, and sanitize industrial kitchen equipment. Additionally, Members sharpen their culinary skills by mastering food preparation, menu planning, and recipe execution.
Schedule and Participation for the Kitchen Program
The Kitchen Training Program is designed exclusively for Café Members. Because the culinary industry is always hiring, this training helps participants secure stable employment quickly.
- Schedule: The program runs for eight weeks, Monday through Friday. Trainees work directly with instructors to create a personalized training schedule.
- Participation: We host up to eight participants per eight-week cycle. Each Member works one or two days per week from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm.
- Menu Development: As skills improve, participants take the lead. You will eventually develop and cook a full menu from scratch to serve to your fellow Members during lunch.

Graduation and Career Support in the Food Industry
After finishing the Kitchen Training Program, Members receive a professional certificate of completion. This certificate serves as a badge of honor, acknowledging the technical skills and dedication you’ve shown over the eight-week course.
Everett Recovery Café is proud to partner with local staffing agencies that prioritize our graduates for job openings. We go beyond the kitchen by helping you build a professional resume that highlights your new certifications. Our team works with you to contact these agencies and help you land a position that provides a living wage and a sense of purpose.
